Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Wilcoproco collects, uses and protects personal information when you use this website or contact us, and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Last updated: 27 October 2026
1. Who we are
Wilcoproco is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website.
- Telephone: 071 616 6495
- WhatsApp: 071 616 6495
- Our Information Officer can be reached on the same number.
2. Information we collect
When you send an enquiry through a form on this website, we collect your full name, contact number, email address, suburb, type of project, your description of the work and your preferred contact method. With your enquiry we also record the page you sent it from, your IP address and the date and time.
When you call, WhatsApp or email us, we receive the details you choose to share in that conversation. WhatsApp is operated by WhatsApp LLC, part of Meta, under its own privacy policy.
When you browse the website, our server keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time) to keep the website secure and working. If you accept analytics or marketing cookies, Google and Meta also collect usage information, as described in section 6.
We do not ask for special personal information (such as health, religious or biometric information), and the website is not intended for children.
3. How we use your information
- to respond to your enquiry, discuss your project and prepare a quotation;
- to carry out work you ask us to do, and to keep records of that work;
- to keep the website secure and to block spam and automated form submissions;
- with your consent, to understand how visitors use the website and to measure and improve our advertising.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not send you marketing messages unless you have agreed to receive them.
4. Our grounds for using it
POPIA allows personal information to be processed on the grounds listed in section 11 of the Act. We rely on:
- your request: dealing with an enquiry and taking steps you ask for before any work is agreed, and then carrying out that work;
- our legitimate interests in running a secure website and business, balanced against your rights;
- your consent, for analytics and marketing cookies. You can withdraw it at any time.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the website and our business, and only as far as they need it:
- our website hosting provider, which stores the website and the enquiries sent through it;
- our email provider, which delivers enquiry notifications to us;
- Cloudflare, which provides Turnstile, the security check on our forms;
- Google, for Google Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies) and Google Search Console (which reports how the website appears in Google Search and places no cookies on your device);
- Meta Platforms, for the Meta Pixel (only if you accept marketing cookies).
Some of these providers, such as Google, Meta and Cloudflare, may process information outside South Africa. Section 72 of POPIA allows this where the recipient is bound by law, binding corporate rules or an agreement that gives adequate protection, or where you consent. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
On your first visit we ask whether you accept analytics and marketing cookies. Nothing in those two categories loads until you choose. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
| Category | What it is used for | Provider | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Remembering your cookie choice, and the security check that blocks spam on our forms | Wilcoproco; Cloudflare Turnstile | Your choice is kept in your browser's storage. Turnstile processes signals such as your IP address and browser details to detect bots. |
| Analytics (only with consent) | Counting visits and understanding how pages are used | Google Analytics 4 | Cookies named _ga and _ga_<id>, which Google sets for 2 years by default |
| Marketing (only with consent) | Measuring the results of our Facebook and Instagram advertising and showing relevant adverts | Meta Pixel | Cookies such as _fbp and _fbc. Meta sets their duration; see Meta's cookie policy. |
7. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond and, if you become a client, for as long as needed for the work, any guarantees and our legal record-keeping obligations. After that we delete them or remove anything that identifies you.
Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including an encrypted connection (HTTPS), restricted access to the website's administration area and spam protection on our forms. No website or transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to keep the risks low and will act if we become aware of a security compromise.
9. Your rights
Under POPIA you may:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or delete personal information that is inaccurate, out of date or no longer needed;
- object to the processing of your information for direct marketing, or on reasonable grounds relating to your situation;
- withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it);
- lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
To use any of these rights, contact our Information Officer using the details in section 1. We may need to confirm your identity first.
